The X-Rider nameplate, first launched in 2026, is making a comeback on the latest generation D-Max as Isuzu expands their double cab bakkie offering to once again include X-Rider models.
Based on the seventh-generation D-Max range, the new X-Rider embodies the standout character, bold design and distinctive features that have made this model popular amongst South African bakkie owners
The original X-Rider was celebrated for its distinctive design elements and upscale features and the all-new X-Rider takes this legacy to new heights.
The new X-Rider is tailor made for customers wanting a double cab with distinctive looks, heightened refinement, notable safety and comfort features, along with unwavering performance and reliability. Style and image hold significance but accessibility is a top priority and where the X-Rider excels.
The distinctive styling of the X-Rider also represents a value for money proposition as it is based on the mid-range 1.9 Ddi LS models with a choice of manual or automatic transmissions in 4x2 form as well as 4x4 automatic derivatives.
Unique X-Rider equipment
The assertive character of the X-Rider is characterised by a sleek black gloss grille decorated with red ISUZU script.
X-Rider badges have been added to both the front doors and tailgate and are complemented by a black ISUZU tailgate decal. LED headlamps, fog lamps and taillamps enhance the upmarket appearance while ensuring optimal visibility.
Stylish black accents adorn the door handles, B-pillars, side-mirror covers, tailgate handle and curved sports bar behind the cab. Dark grey roof rails serve a practical purpose, allowing for the fitment of rooftop accessories if desired.
Stylish 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels incorporating red ISUZU lettering on black centre caps round off the exterior enhancements. A towbar is standard fitment and features a 2.1-ton tow rating.
The Isuzu D-Max X-Rider is available exclusively in four striking colours including Splash White, Mercury Silver, Red Spinel and Islay Gray.
Interior improvements
Subtle red accents throughout the cabin emphasise the X-Rider’s unique personality including red contrast stitching and embroidered red X logos on the headrests of the leather seats. PVC leather door trims with red stitching round off the interior.
A striking red divider that features the ‘X’ logo is positioned between the glove compartment and dashboard, complimented by a leather-wrapped, red-stitched steering wheel incorporating a red Isuzu badge.
Additional red accents, such as elements in the door materials, red stitching on the gearshift boot and park brake covering as well as dark interior surfaces, a dark headliner and unique X-Rider floor mats all contribute to the overall theme of the X-Rider’s interior.
