Chery have added a third hybrid model to their offering with the launch of the Tiggo 8 CSH. This model boasts unique styling touches, a premium interior and an excellent combination of performance and efficiency.
Exceptional range and performance
The Tiggo 8 CSH pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor in order to deliver a combined power output of 255kW and 525Nm. The electric motor is powered by a 18.3kWh battery that enables an impressive all-electric range of up to 90km.
Power is delivered to the front wheels via Chery’s advanced Dedicated Hybrid Transmission, which is capable of seamlessly blending performance and efficiency. Drivers are also able to toggle between Eco, Normal and Sport modes, depending on their preferences or driving conditions.
With a combined fuel consumption figure if just 1,3 litres/100km or 5,2 litres per 100km when the state of charge drops below 30%, the Tiggo 8 CSH is exceptionally efficient.
Thanks to that impressive fuel economy and the electric motor assistance, Chery claim that the Tiggo 8 CSH is capable of a combined range of 1 200km.
Hybrid specific styling
The hybrid derivative of the Chery Tiggo 8 is differentiated by a number of unique styling features. This includes a model-specific diamond-pattern grille, a sportier front bumper and a set of 19-inch alloy wheels. Standard Automatic LED headlights enhance its upmarket appearance.
Well-equipped interior
The Chery Tiggo 8 CSH is offered exclusively in Apex trim, which includes all the features of a flagship SUV.
The interior is finished in soft black leather and the spacious cabin seats seven in a two/three/two layout while blending comfort, practicality and a premium feel. With the third row of seats folded flat, cabin space increases to 494 litres and with the second row folded down that space increases to 1 930 litres.
Upfront both the driver and passenger are treated to heated and ventilated seats featuring electric adjustment. The front passenger also benefits from Chery’s Queen Seat, which includes a built-in massage function, making it perfect for long drives.
Creature comfort highlights include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting and an electric tailgate.
A large 15.6-inch LCD touchscreen places the majority of vehicle controls within easy reach of the driver and front passenger. This includes connectivity via Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Audio is transmitted through a 12-speaker Sony sound system.
The Intelligent Voice Command System, activated by saying “Hello Chery,” allows the driver to control various functions without taking their hands off the steering wheel.
A comprehensive range of safety and driver assistance features includes a total of ten airbags and Isofix child seat mounts. Hill start assist, electronic stability control, traction control, brake assist, driver fatigue management and a head-up display amongst others are in place to make driving safer and easier.
Parking is made simpler thanks to a 540-degree camera system, front and rear parking sensors and a reverse camera.
Warranty and pricing
Pricing includes a seven-year/90 000km service plan, a seven-year/200 000km warranty, a 10-year/1-million-kilometre engine warranty and a 10-year/unlimited km battery warranty.
